With the passing of the old year and the start of the new, now is the perfect time for reflecting on the events of the last 12 months. Since Delmhorst is a moisture meter company, it might be a good idea for us to reflect on the moisture meters we make, and create a list of the top few best ones and talk about their uses.

So, here’s a list of the top five moisture meters of the year from Delmhorst:

Moisture Meter #1: TechCheck PLUS

TechCheckPlus-1The TechCheck PLUS is a perennial favorite moisture testing tool among restoration experts and construction companies alike. This 2-in-1 pin and pinless moisture meter offers the best of both worlds. The pin moisture meter mode has both drywall and wood moisture meter reading scales, while the pinless moisture meter mode uses a reference scale to quickly get qualitative moisture indications in a variety of building materials.

This makes the TechCheck an incredibly versatile moisture testing tool, as the pinless mode can check large areas of building materials rapidly for quick positive/negative moisture readings, and the pin mode can get quantitative readings in wood and drywall with ease.

Moisture Meter #2: FX-2000

The FX-2000 is the ideal agricultural moisture meter for testing moisture in hay at all stages of the harvest. When used with the 831 multi-pin prod, the FX-2000 excels at testing hay moisture in the windrow. When used with the 1986 chamber sensor, this hay moisture meter can collect accurate, up-to-the-second moisture data on hay as you’re baling it.

Finally, when used with a long hay bale probe, such as the 1235 prod, the FX-2000 can check the moisture content of a hay bale near the core—helping to determine its risks of mold and combustion.

A built-in calibration check helps make it easy to ensure moisture meter accuracy as well—so agricultural specialists always know they’re getting good readings.

Moisture Meter #3: BD-10

Some professionals prefer an analog moisture meter to a digital display device. That might be the reason why the BD-10 is still one of Delmhorst’s most popular pin moisture meters. While this moisture meter might not have as many special features and options as some of our digital moisture meters, it is an easy-to-learn, easy-to-use moisture testing device that offers great accuracy and reliability.

Also, the built-in calibration check feature makes it easy to ensure moisture meter accuracy with this testing tool.

Moisture Meter #4: ProScan

The ProScan is Delmhorst’s most advanced pinless moisture meter. With both wood and reference meter reading scales, this moisture testing tool is perfect for restoration professionals who need to quickly check large areas for hidden moisture pockets. As a non-destructive moisture meter, the pinless ProScan is perfect for testing moisture without marking up delicate wood.

Also, with the meter’s built-in species correction feature, it is easy to get accurate and reliable moisture testing results. Simply identify the specific gravity (SG) of the wood being tested and set the meter to that SG value.

Moisture Meter #5: J-LITE

When it comes to simplicity and reliability, few moisture meters can match the J-LITE meter from Delmhorst. This moisture testing device uses a set of LEDs to provide a quick and clear indication of a material’s moisture content. Because of the light-up LEDs, it is easy to see the indicated moisture content, even in poorly-lit rooms and areas.

This meter’s simplicity makes it a great tool for both new and experienced moisture testers. New users will be able to learn how to test for moisture and interpret moisture readings quickly, while pros will appreciate the simple interface that makes checking readings quick and easy.
